Netflix, Inc. Decides not to Renew License with Epix


Netflix, Inc. wants to provide its users with original exclusive content and hence did not renew its movie licensing deal with Epix.
Pay-Tv channel Epix leaves Netflix, Inc, according to latest Netflix news and has decided to switch its streaming partner to HuluEpix provided Netflix with popular Hollywood movies that include Hunger Games: Catching Fire and World War Z.
On Sunday Epix announced that it has signed a deal with Hulu which will commence from October. In early 2012, the MGM, Lions Gate Entertainment Corporation and Viacom Inc.’s Paramount owned company signed a deal with Amazon Prime Instant Video signed a deal with Amazon Prime Instant Video. The online video streaming service firm informed its subscribers that it will be terminating and parting its ways by the end of September from the American satellite television network. This means that the users will not be able to enjoy high profile films like Transformers: Age of Extinction and Hunger Games etc. Epix and Netflix signed a deal back in 2010 which ended in 2012, the same year Amazon signed a deal with the American video on demand service to compete with Netflix.
The American on-demand internet streaming media has officially told its users that they have got a month to enjoy these high profile films that the company gets via Epix, after this month they will have to go elsewhere to watch these movies. The company’s take on this whole situation was that since these movies are very popular, they are widely available on different subscription platforms and cable; the same time they have been available on Netflix as well. The streaming company now wants to focus on original content and ‘innovative licensing agreements with the movie studios’ in order to provide its users with a different and better experience.  
Ted SarandosNetflix Chief Content Officer, wants the United States users to get excited about the company’s upcoming releases which include an unflinching war drama directed by Cary Fukunaga, who is an Emmy Award Winner and also directed True Detective, this movie is likely to release in October. In December, the firm has planned to release Ridiculous Six, a comedy starring Adam Sandler and a few others, according to latest Netflix updates. The firm promises that these movies will be released faster than they were initially supposed to come out and along with improving the company’s catalogue the company further stated that it will provide great movies and television shows for all kind of customer which will only be available on Netflix.
Soon after the video streaming media player made their announcement, Hulu and Epix signed a multi-year deal and will be releasing their first Lionsgate, Paramount and MGM shows starting from October 1, 2015. The company has promised new hit titles, library films till the deal lasts. Hulu will show its content 90 days after its release.
